CHRISTYFEST, Enjoy the Journey
 

ChristyFest^TM is a celebration of “Christy” the TV series, movies, and classic novel by Catherine Marshall.  This years’ celebration will be held in Townsend, TN from June 18 – 22, 2008.  There's nothing quite like ChristyFest anywhere!  Where else can you mingle with your favorite Hollywood actors, let alone have a chance to act in an impromptu workshop scene with them?  Where else can you spend quality recreational time with people who share your family ideals?  Where else can you enjoy new friendships in such striking natural surroundings as the Great Smoky Mountains?

This year by popular demand, we’ve added an additional day to the festival.  We’ll begin on Wednesday, June 18^th and culminate on Sunday, June 22nd.  Over the years, ChristyFest has become much more than just a fan club meeting. While "Christy" is our focus, we’ve broadened our schedule to include to such things as mountain crafts, herbal medicines, the history and lifestyle of early mountain settlements, and music that would have been popular during the time period in which Christy lived. So in addition to mingling with the TV and movie cast and crew, we also feature seminars by experts in these subjects and an annual field trip to Del Rio, TN, the actual setting of the novel.

ChristyFest participants come from across the United States and Canada (and a few from “across the pond”), and they're all ages. Families, couples and singles find their time together at ChristyFest to be welcoming, fun, informative and, most importantly, relaxing.   

ChristyFest is a non-profit event organized and run entirely by volunteers.
