Music Row  865.983.8259 - 865.300.7685 - 865.973.1286
The idea of Music Row was conceived several years ago. The owners, Brenda and Lowell Hamby, are especially fond of music (Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country) and wanted to provide a venue where amateur musicians of all ages and talent levels could gather to play together and also share their music with folks who like to listen and enjoy each other's company. In June of 2005, the Hambys opened the doors of the old Sterling IGA store at 2808 East Lamar Alexander Parkway, just outside of Maryville, Tennessee. With the volunteer help of many friends, musicians and listeners alike, Brenda and Lowell turned an old grocery store into one of the most unique music venues in East Tennessee.
Rocky Branch Bluegrass  865-738-3732 / 865-318-4871
"Chuck came down here one night and said, 'Ben, why don't you start having music down here?'" Ben Cooper recounted. "It sounded like a pretty good idea, and we tried it. The first week there wasn't that many -- about 20. The next week we had about 40. Next week, we had probably 150 and it just kept growing. At one time, there were so many you couldn't walk through the hallways -- outside, out back, there were people all over because there wasn't any other places to pick. Of course, there have been places to pick since then as we opened more classrooms. A lot of people who've picked here went on to bigger and better things. A lot of them who learned to pick here made really good musicians. They haven't become famous, but they do all right." Word about the music soon spread into the neighboring towns, drawing tourists on vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. Many tourists -- from all over the United States and the world -- now return year after year, planning their vacations around the picking at Rocky Branch. Not surprisingly, that fame continues to spread as filmmakers from England and Los Angeles have made their way to this tiny patch of heaven on earth.

The Waterfront Bar and Grill  865-681-1212
The Waterfront Bar and Grill opened its doors to Maryville in April of 2000 and has been going strong ever since. Although we happily receive newcomers daily, Waterfront boasts a loyal following of Maryvillians who have discovered the secrets of this independently owned restaurant. And what are those secrets? Well…first is our location. Waterfront overlooks the beautiful Greenbelt Park in downtown Maryville. The “water” reference in “Water”front refers to the large creek that runs through the park. Much wildlife is seen here as ducks, blue herons, otters and even turtles frequently make an appearance to our outdoor diners. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Waterfront becomes a hopping place when local bands entertain the crowd. During nice weather, the deck becomes a stage (and dance floor for those interested) where you can hear local favorites such as the Moonshine Cherrys, and Tall Paul, just to name a few.
