HAROLD S. WALKER Harold Samuel Walker, 77, of Hickory, died Oct. 16, 2000, at his residence. Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Blount County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Annie Odessie Braden Walker. The owner and operator of Viewmont Paint and Body Shop, he served three years in the 191st Field Artillery Battery C of Camp Beale, Calif., during World War II. |
| Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Campbell Walker; four sons and
three daughters-in-law, Samuel J. and Terri Walker of Seymour, Tenn., and
Barry DeMark Walker, Jerome K. and Sylvia Walker and Tracy L. and Page
Walker of Hickory; a brother, Ralph Walker of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister,
Shirley Edwards of Maryville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Laura Gibson,
Paul Walker, Marcie Adams, Leigha Starnes and Heather Vasquez; and seven
great- grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Steve Allen at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his sons. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 48, P.O. Box 505, Hickory, N.C. 28603. |
