Nice site and brings back a lot of
memories! I was there Mar.,
1941-Mar.,1942. Arrived as T. Sgt with
the 33rd Div. I have pictures I took of
some of our activities there, especially
the first few months when they kept us
busy building wooden sidewalks! Some
way to learn to be a soldier! Oh well
there was plenty of that too.

Here are a few more Steve. As you can
see, they weren't quite ready for us
when we got there. No sidewalks, no
paved streets and they were still
painting the buildings. Most of the
amenities you mentioned must have
appeared after I left! But training
went on, regardless.
