Children On-Line

We consistently hear people speaking about pornography on the internet or the fear of a child eventually being molested by someone he or she met while browsing the internet. While pornography is certainly on the internet, it also appears in magazine racks and in back rooms of video rental stores throughout Blount County. It is on satellite and it is on cable. It's systems of delivery reach every medium/media designed by man.

Placed in a gallon bucket, pornography would but be only a drop among all the great information on the internet. The internet can be, and should only be used as a tool, with the user controling it... and this kind of control starts in the heart.

"When you hear people speak of "how much garbage" there is on the internet you might remind them that the only way they could know this is to have 'clicked' on a link to get to these kind of sites. They are not accidentally
stumbled upon."

We would kid ourselves to think that molestation does not exist inside our own community. There is no way we will ever "protect" or "cover up" these things which become more and more prevalent in our society as every minute passes by.
It is the heart of theBlountWeb! that we feel a need to go to the root of the problem and not offer Band-Aid after Band-Aid. The problem lies in the heart of mankind where Band-Aids will not stick. We as parents and adults need to teach our children some simple and base truths, which we want pushed away from our children... Christ has no place in the lives of most families today.
You can search for yourselves the means to use for the screening of pornography and adult content, but we feel there is a more urgent need to get down and love our children and instruct them as to the enviable destruction which is attached to the pursuit of these things which beckons them on every corner.

the root of the problem is family and home.
