Jessica King Home
218 W. Goddard

This Craftsman Cottage was built around 1915.  The original structure had three bedrooms, one bath, living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room features the traditional craftsman fireplace flanked by windowed bookcases.

The home was purchased in 1965 by Robert and Clella Sauls from Nathalia Wright.  In the early seventies the Sauls remodeled the home and added a large den, utility room and second bath to the rear of the home and enclosing the front porch.

In 2006 the home was purchased from the Sauls family by Jessica King.  The interior of the home has been recently remodeled with careful attention to restoring the home to the original 1915 character.  The hardwood floors were refinished and the plaster walls repaired and painted using historic colors.  Work on the bathrooms included new tile floors, wainscoting, and new fixtures.  The front porch that had been enclosed by previous owners has been reopened to the neighborhood.  The furnishings and accessories of the home are in keeping with the era in which the home was built.
