Roscoe and Missy
Morgan
Well, I would
consider myself the
"Forrest Gump" of
Bluegrass Music! I
have been to many
places, with many
people, over the
years, only "ducking
my head" into the
picture, then
disappearing into
the musical woodwork
once again. Some of
the notables I've
had the pleasure of
playing with
include...Dave Evans
and Riverbend, John
Reischman, Valerie
Smith and Liberty
Pike, James King,
Bill Monroe, Karl
Shiflett and Big
Country Show, Jimmy
Arnold, and probably
some I've forgotten!
I was raised in a
musical family in
Cincinnati, Ohio and
was always around
music. When I heard
Roscoe Holcomb
records, then Ralph
Stanley and Keith
Whitley together, I
decided that this
was what I wanted to
do! So, I took a
little ribbing for
my Norman Blake
recordings in the
days of K.C. and the
Sunshine Band, but
it all came out o.k. |

He has
played in
countless
bands (see
bio page for
a complete
overview)
and is in
demand as a
music
instructor
and
performer.
Roscoe is
proud to say
that he is a
Christian,
and that..."
my goal in
life is to
play
proficient
music that
will stand
the test of
time, and to
glorify
Christ while
doing
it....it's
time that |
|
|
musicians figure
out that it's quite
appropriate to use
the talent that God
gave us to glorify
Him...you can still
play relevant music,
and I intend to do
just that"! |

Missy is a
native of
Maryville,
TN...you may
have guessed
that she's
Roscoe's
wife also!!
Roscoe
comments
about Missy;
"I have
never met a
woman with
more
Christian
|
|
|
backbone than
Missy.. it's not a
"bash you with the
Bible" mentality,
but more of a quiet,
settled peace that
she has. God sent
her to me, and I
have excelled partly
because of her
presence, wisdom,
and advice". |
