We have expanded our Operation Success, family preservation program for males and females, ages 5-18. The goal of this program is to help families whose children have been identified as being at risk for removal. We are still working on the completion of our new building and will be offering this space to young ladies who have aged out of the foster care system at age 18, but need a safe, inexpensive place to live while pursuing their education and working at a job. The hope is that we will be able to help these young adults continue to build the skills necessary to move from the child welfare system to being a healthy, contributing citizen in our community. Good Neighbors is a 501(c)3 community ministry of the Blount County Ecumenical Action Council.  Good Neighbors is designed to help lift our neighbors out of crisis in a compassionate setting.
Good Neighbors provides resources to maintain and/or increase the ability of our neighbors to cope with the challenges of everyday life. We do this in an atmosphere of love and respect, building partnerships through which Christ’s love can grow and by advocating for social justice within Blount County.

Family Promise’s mission is to unite the faith community, volunteers, and community resources to provide meals, temporary shelter, and social services to families without homes, enabling them to achieve lasting independence.
Family Promise of Blount County currently has a network of 10 Blount County churches and 9 support churches that have agreed to provide shelter, meals, and support for homeless families, as well as a partner church that serves as Family Promise's Day Center facility.
