Townsend & Walland Tennessee, the Peaceful Side of the Smoky Mountains

All Business Subscribers can be found in these 2 Directories

Townsend Tennessee is known as "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies" and for good reason. Unlike many towns near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Townsend has withstood the development of amusement parks, high-rise hotels and has stayed away from the carnival atmosphere which many towns have embraced. So come and walk in the mountains, ride the bike trails, fish and float the Little River, go for a swim, visit Cades Cove or simply sit back on your porch and enjoy the biggest blessing of all... serenity! By the way, if you do want the tourist atmosphere, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are a 20 to 40 minute drive across the valley... go enjoy, then come home to rest.

I remember going to the Wilson's in Townsend in my younger days... I'll never forget pouring honey over the best homemade bread I've ever tasted.
